We've been hinting at this for a while now and the moment has finally arrived! A few episodes ago we were talking with Matt from the Alloy Podcast about all the different sub genres in metal. You've probably heard of several types of "core" metal, different types of black and death metal, and something called Djent - but have you ever wondered, "Why are there sub genres at all?" Is there something that truly makes each one unique? Now you can put those questions to rest with our Genres page. We've done the leg work of separating out 44 unique metal related characterstics, and associating them to 21 different metal sub genres. The result is a page that lets you pick the characterstics and see the related genres. Or you can pick a genre and see it's characteristics. Metal nerdom bliss! We've also included a link to email us if you think we've missed anything so feel free to be scrutinous! BEYOND TERROR BEYOND GRACE BEYOND AWESOMEposted by Your Hosts on 3/14/2011 22:55 | Category: Interviews
Did you catch the recent United Hate Across America tour? We did and had a chance to talk with the opening act, Australia's own Beyond Terror Beyond Grace. As luck would have it, initial means of transportation fell through, so Malevolent Creation, being the killer dudes they are, shared their tour bus with BTBG. Coincidentally, this provided one of the more comfortable settings for a MetalsPeak interview thus far! Check it out as we discussed their somewhat shocking shift in musical direction, what it's like having a vocalist live on the other side of the country, and reactions to a staple of American culture: Wal-Mart. Also, our interview feed is now in the iTunes store, so make sure you subscribe! |
